Our Story
About
Our story starts long ago in Afghanistan. Upon returning from my time as an Assaultman with 2ndBN 4th Marines in 2013, I struggled to acclimate back to civilian life.
I finally looked to the VA for help. I received a duffel bag full of pills and a breathing app to help me sleep. The breathing app was incredibly esoteric..."breath in sunshine, exhale rainbows". I could not connect with that app, while being so close to combat.
However, I knew I did not want to be on these pills and knew that breathwork/yoga could be the key. So I dove deep into yoga and breathwork.
Through this endeavor I fell in love with yoga, but felt incredibly out of place. This is a problem that plagues the yoga industry, even if its not on purpose. Yoga sets, designer mats, and a certain type of setting dominate the yoga world; and can create an artifical barrier rto entry. Especially in people who need it: First Responders, Veterans, Active Duty, Athletes, and more.
So in 2023 I created Fox Company Yoga. A military themed yoga studio located in Wildwood, MO. And now we create Mindful Outlaw. The apparel side of Fox Company Yoga. Inspired from American Yogi and my own experience of finding my place in the world of yoga.
